The media in Germany continue to monitor the development of modern Uzbekistan. Recently, electronic portals PresseEcho OpenPR and published articles on the acquaintance of the German public with the experience of our country to increase the role of women in civil society, the state and public administration.


Turkish international channel TRT-Avaz held telecast dedicated to our country. Program has been led by manager of Dünya Bülteni rubric, Gёkjan Oan.


Electronic portal of the Russian news agency "Soсioglobus" published an article devoted to the experience of Uzbekistan in strengthening the role of women in civil society.

NIMFOCS together with the parliamentary group of EMU in Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in all regions from May 27 to June 4 conducted seminars on the theme: "The role of civil society in enhancing the activity of the population on environmental protection and the implementation of public control in the field", aimed at clarification of the nature and importance of the Law "On Environmental Control", the involvement of youth in the work of environmental protection, strengthening of cooperation of civil society in the implementation of public environmental control.


In Uzbekistan a consistent work to ensure the active participation of women in social and political life of the country is carried out. Republic within the framework of the signed in 2000, the Millennium Declaration has developed and is implementing specific measures aimed at the empowerment of women, particularly in political decision-making.

From 25 to 30 May 2015 by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNICEF conducted "Week of a healthy baby". According to the Ministry, within the framework of the week across the country held the next 24th round of vitamin A supplementation to more than 2.6 million children aged from 6 months to 5 years. The main goal of this event - the protection of children's health, increasing immune status, reduction of vitamin A deficiency.


On web site of the Turkish News and Azerbaijani Ethnoglobus published articles on the economic development of Uzbekistan and work on the MDGs carried out in the country.

In the Latvian magazine "Free city" published an article entitled "Uzbekistan has outlined eight global development goals". It is dedicated to the presentation of the Second National Report on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Uzbekistan on 29 April this year in Tashkent.


The National Centre for Human Rights in cooperation with the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives and the Representation of the UN Population Fund in Uzbekistan held a presentation of the book "The concept of national monitoring of women's rights in Uzbekistan" in Uzbek and Russian languages.


Baltic portal Baltic News Service (BNS) continues to inform its readers about events in Uzbekistan. In particular, the official website of the publication posted an article about the fact that Uzbekistan has submitted a second national report on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

On 30 April, 2015 the II national Millennium Development Goals (MDG) report of Uzbekistan was launched in Tashkent’s Wyndham Hotel. The event was attended by representatives of Government ministries and institutions, international agencies, diplomatic corps, experts and the civil society.


During the years of independence Uzbekistan has formed an effective technical, technological and financial base of long-term and sustainable economic growth. This is stated in the National Report of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) submitted May 1, 2015.


This report is a joint initiative of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations (UN) agencies in Uzbekistan, and it aims to provide an objective analysis and assess the country’s progress towards reaching Millennium Development Goals during 2000-2013, for each of the goals.


In our nation's capital hosted a presentation of the Second National Report on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Uzbekistan. The event was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, international organizations, diplomatic corps, experts and civil society.


One of the priorities of the state policy of our country is the social, economic and legal protection of women, creation of decent conditions to improve their all-round well-being. So, on this topic the Secretary General of the Italian branch of the "European Women's Lobby" Mary Louis Bottarelli Tranquilli-Leale willingly shared her views and comments in an interview with news agency "Jahon".



Measures to protect the rights of women implemented by trade unions and employers in Uzbekistan are really impressive.
