During a telephone conversation held on April 26 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev discussed matters of further strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance.

In recent years, relations between Central Asia (CA) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have shown a steady and positive dynamic.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov together planted an oak tree on the avenue of honored guests of the Congress Center in Samarkand.

At the end of the bilateral talks, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan - the Order “Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik”.

On April 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks at the Congress Center of “Silk Road Samarkand” complex with the participation of official delegations.

On 28-29 April 2025, Tashkent will host the First Central Asia –the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Think Tank Forum on the topic: “Strengthening Strategic Partnership: From Historical Ties to Comprehensive Cooperation”.
