On December 25, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state in the city of St. Petersburg.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived on a working visit to the Russian Federation.

The meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the work accomplished in the field of healthcare and identified priority tasks for 2025.

The Head of State was provided with information on priority tasks in the system of preschool and school education for 2025.

After gaining independence in 1991, Uzbekistan has long retained elements of the centralized system of governance characteristic of post-Soviet countries. However, since 2016, a new stage of development has begun in the country, marked by the implementation of structural reforms aimed at democratizing society, reducing corruption and improving conditions for civic participation.
