Priority tasks for digital technologies development reviewed

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the presentation on the achieved results and priority tasks for 2026 in the sphere of digital technologies development.

During the presentation, it was noted that in recent years, the country has been implementing consistent measures to develop the digital economy, digitalize public services, and form an innovative ecosystem. According to research by foreign experts, in 2024-2025, the total value of the country's startup and venture ecosystem reached $3,9 billion. The number of domestic startups has exceeded 750. Today, there are 15 venture funds, and the volume of venture capital has exceeded $180 million.

Uzbekistan is recognized as the second fastest-growing startup ecosystem in the world and the leader in growth rate in Central Asia.

The presentation noted that by 2030, there are plans to increase the number of startups to 5 thousand , the number of startups entering foreign markets to 200, and raise the volume of venture investments to $2 billion.

In this regard, a four-stage startup support system is being implemented based on international experience. At the stages of idea, development, launch, and scaling, the provision of grants, tax incentives, co-financing mechanisms, and compensation for export expenses is envisaged.

Plans for the further development of electronic public services were reviewed. In particular, it is planned to increase the number of digital services to 900, expand the functionality of the MyGov.uz mobile application, implement artificial intelligence technologies in more than 50 services, develop a Unified Population Register, and fully digitalize the processes of starting a business, registering employees of sole proprietorships, issuing bank cards, obtaining SIM cards, and accessing insurance and advertising services.

During the presentation, information was presented related to the progress of creating infrastructure for artificial intelligence technologies. For instance, a modern small supercomputer has been commissioned, and work on acquiring and launching a large supercomputer is in an active phase. As a result of the project's implementation, artificial intelligence laboratories will be established in 15 higher education institutions, the capacity of specialized professionals will be enhanced, while opportunities for the development and implementation of domestic AI solutions will be expanded.

The need to expand the network of modern data centers in the country's regions, as well as to ensure the security and continuity of data storage and processing, was noted.

Particular attention was paid to the development of telecommunications infrastructure. It was emphasized that this sphere is demonstrating sustainable growth rates. Internet speed and coverage are increasing year by year, and the quality of mobile communication is improving. In 2026, further implementation of 5G technologies, expansion of high-speed internet coverage to populated areas, and wider use of satellite communications are planned.

The President noted that digital technologies directly contribute to increasing the competitiveness of economic sectors, the efficiency of public administration, and the quality of life of the population, and issued relevant instructions to the responsible officials for the implementation of the outlined tasks.
