TASHKENT, August 13. /Dunyo IA/. From July 28 to August 8, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy representatives participated in the international summer school "New Era for the Turkic World" in Istanbul, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies at Ibn Khaldun University (IHU, Türkiye) in cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Uzbekistan), the Institute of Development and Diplomacy at ADA University (Azerbaijan) and International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi (Kazakhstan).

The summer school was attended by more than 60 representatives of research and academic circles from the USA, Germany, England, China, Iran, Russia, India, Poland, Pakistan, Bulgaria, and 20 OTS member states. Among the listeners were representatives of the teaching staff of UWED.

At discussion panels and lectures, along with experts from leading educational and research institutions around the world, presentations were made by the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akram Umarov, and Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Gulnoza Ismailova.

The program addressed global and regional security challenges, logistics and transport corridor problems, issues of education and humanitarian cooperation, and environmental and climate challenges. The problem of identity (national, Turkic, Central Asian, post-Soviet identity) in the modern Turkic-speaking space is especially noted. Listeners’ attention was also focused on the importance of preserving cultural identity in the context of globalization and mutual influence.

According to the participants, holding an international summer school was an important step in strengthening scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange between the countries of the Turkic world and beyond. The training course provided a unique opportunity to discuss key global and regional challenges and contributed to the development of international dialogue on various issues.
